I went walking along the beach on Sunday morning. It was quiet, the sun was just peeking over the tips of the trees, and the water reflected bright blue light. The gentle waves lapped rhythmically against the shore. I watched these seagulls; they lingered on the rock for a long time, seemingly content in that place and at peace with one another. I suspect they were companions – (seagulls do mate for life) – enjoying a quiet, warm, Sunday morning.
When I returned to the camp sight I sat with my companion, my husband, my best friend and we drank our morning coffee, and enjoyed the quiet, warm Sunday morning…content in that place, and at peace with one another.
Today I took some images of a fantastic tree at Anacortes. The tree is weathered, full of detail and movements. The sun was very bright, both accenting some of the branches on the tree, as well as causing severe shadows on the dark side of the tree. I wanted to capture the light on the branches, and the detail of the wood.
I used both my 24mm and my 105mm on the Nikon D700.
