The Rose by Bette Midler
When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun’s love
In the spring becomes the rose.
Spring…so full of surprise, and gentle reminders that warmth, light, and more sun are on their way.
It’s so easy to denounce the dark season, succumbing to it’s gloom. One’s mind tends to become murky and forget the wonder that spring brings.
But then, gradually the transition from cold to warm, from dark to light, from barren to fertile…there’s one, and then there are many. Blossoms let us know that we can always begin anew.
